Hi, my name’s Gem!
Frame Freezy is a Toronto-based sports photography brand, built from a lifelong love for athletics and the power that a single image has to tell a story. What started as a small passion slowly evolved into a deeper purpose. Frame Freezy focuses on capturing athletes in their element and preserving the emotion, grit, and energy of the moments that make sports unforgettable.
My journey with photography began back in 2016. I was a high school student balancing classes, part-time shifts, and whatever creative outlet I could find. Weddings were my first real introduction to photography, and joining the yearbook club opened up a whole new world of opportunities. I spent my free time documenting school events, stage performances, and the excitement of home games. That’s where I realized how much I enjoyed fast-paced athletics, and how rewarding it was to freeze a moment that goes by in an instant.
Life shifted after graduating, and photography naturally stopped, but the passion never left. A few years later, I came back to the craft with a clearer sense of who I was and where I wanted to grow. I returned with a focus on sports, starting with smaller, invited events and eventually finding myself immersed in competitive basketball environments across the GTA.
Today, I work closely with RiseUp Basketball League, capturing weekly games of the athletes who pour everything into their performances. I’ve also gained meaningful experience photographing for JUEL of Ontario Basketball, where I’ve documented province-wide high school-level competition and the intensity that comes with it. Along the way, I’ve volunteered my skills for Humber Polytechnic and the Brampton Honey Badgers, contributing to event coverage and media content that helped me grow both technically and creatively.
Every experience has refined my eye and strengthened my vision. Frame Freezy is a testament to the hours courtside and the belief that every athlete deserves images that honour who they are.
Sports are full of emotion, and I aim to capture that feeling in images that honour the dedication athletes bring long before the lights turn on and the whistle blows.
